    Marans

That's were I'm stuck too. I have been back and forth on the other one. The roo is a lovely guy the one in question is a bit shy though very sweet. It's comb and wattles are about the same size as the roos and it has a bit of golden speckling.

    Marans

I have been back and forth on the sex of one of these two. One I am 100% sure is a roo. The other I'm back and forth on. They are about the same age, approximately 21-23 weeks. I was convinced they were both roos but one was just a slow maturing. Then a tiny dark egg showed up in the egg box...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Awww thank you!! I'm pretty partial to that picture myself. I try to keep up with this thread but I don't post much. My daughter is so excited to get new 4-H chickens for next year. This will be her first year as a "real" 4-Her (she was a mini before).

For those looking for hay, if you have a sale barn nearby it might be a good resource. I haven't paid more than $3.00 a bale for hay and $3.50 for straw this year. Up until last month it had been in the $2.00 range. In chicken news I think I have my first broody girl. I'm trying to decide if...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Just thought I would stop in a say hi! Our 4H fair is this week and dd had a great time showing our BR roo. He is hatchery stock so not show quality but I figured for the mini 4-H they don't judge the birds but rather teach kids about chickens and what a poultry show is like. The judge was...

Oh I just saw this, I wish I had seen this earlier. I ended finding a few SLW at the feed store so I picked them up. The coop is offically full now but maybe I can convince my husband to expand next year so I can get a a few GLW and Marans. Thank you though!! I think you actually are not to...

We just moved from Greenwood. I looked into keeping chickens there but they were pretty chicken unfriendly. We knew we would be moving so I didn't look any further into trying to get it changed though. Best of luck to you!!

I have been wondering this myself. I would love a few if I can find them in the central Indy area.

HI I'm new here! I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to dive in. I'm in northern Rush county and have 2 barred rocks, 2 EEs and 3 RIRs that are about 5 weeks old. We moved their coop outside yesterday and hope to get their run built this week! I'm hoping to pick up 2 more...

Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I have two EE that I got from Orschelns. They are now 4.5 weeks old. I was wondering if you think either is a roo. I have my suspicions about one of them. Chicken one (not sure why it looks like "she" has a bluish tinge, it's more of a blackish color) Chicken Two
