    Growth or scab on 3.5 week old chick’s neck

    My three and a half week old chick has some sort of a black growth or scab. The other chicks pick at it. At first I thought it was its wattle because it was red but I think it was bleeding.     Newly hatched chick has a protrusion

    I had a chick hatch yesterday with a protrusion (from its vent?). It was bleeding yesterday and was brighter red. This morning we removed the other chicks (they were pecking the protrusion) and left this one in the incubator. The chick has been sleeping since then (about 1.5 hrs ago). It’s moved...

    Pasty butt or prolapse?

    @Parmelee Chickens What ended up happening with this chick? I’m dealing with the same thing. The chick hatched yesterday at 1:30 pm. We just moved all of the other chicks to the brooder but left that one in the incubator because it was getting picked on.
