My friend recently called me in a minor panic asking me if I wanted 3 Bantam Hens.. Telling her, I already have 8 and not sure how much more room I can spare without building a new coop, but what is the situation. They were in the hands of an animal "rescue/horder" person... ok, wow! that may be a bit harsh al6517.. I am new to Bantams chickens and just yesterday took 3 babies from an animal hoarder (not sure what breed yet, just have 3 small chicks).. she had good intentions, but way too many pets. So, it sounds to me as if you are saying that I am worthless...

I also am very new to raising chickens and am very glad this post wasn't "Flagged" ... This needs to be shown and I appreciate the information in case this is something I run into. So far, we have been lucky and only seen 1 opossum about 4 months ago and nothing since (but I am always on the watch).

We have 6 chicks. And that is very good to know about the chicken wire, I will look into the hardware cloth soon. So far I have only seen 1 or 2 opossums in the year I've been here, but figure they will come out of the wood works for food. I didn't get a good pic of the roof, but there is good...

We're new to chickens, but our dog loves them.. They are okay with him, but they are also still young and may find his size a little intimidating.. They are of course free range, but we will bring them in the front yard with the dog to play and he just tries to heard them. Can't find anything...
