I got that part. It was the pushing of the liquid in the duck. Maybe I had a weird syringe? Today we did another injection in the other breast and no problems at all. We'll see if it happens again I guess. Thank you for responding.
1) I considered, but no resistence when not in the bird like it was clearing an obstruction. Still, maybe...
2) I tried a few different locations in the breast and the result seemed the same
3) I would like something subcutaneous I think, they say don't go very deep at all with the IM so maybe...
This was the film from the vet. It cost $200. The wing is off and Winky is doing remarkably well. It was a very tough surgery and took every bit of me and three of my kids. I think if infection can be held at bay it will be successful. It has been a little over 48 hours.
Yes, it is just wehn I put the needle in it is really hard to push the plunger. I was just successful with a 22 guage needle but I really had to push it hard and it finally shot in there. I've only ever givin little insulin shots in people and they just go right in.
Hi, How did it go? I'm trying to give penicillin to my 9# duck, but its so very hard to get through the down and and when I did I couldn't get the shot to inject. I tried three times and felt bad and went for more research. It squirted fine outside the duck. I didn't want to go too far into...
I get it, no issues putting an animal down, but when they're happy with their injury I'm less inclined to jump for that solution. I like to think if it were me what would I want, so that's how I roll out the decisions. Nothing appears infected.
It is that dark area. I’ve been cleaning it and it smells fine. Duck appears in good spirit. He moves it when he flaps the good one. I don’t know if the picture worked but it’s just the muscles holding it together. I’d leave it but man that bones is out and there’s a bit of a cavity at the...
How did you remove the bone? I have a duck with a compound broken humerus sticking out. I think it needs to come off just to keep a wind from dragging and at least try to stave off infection. He doesn't seem to mind the broken wing at all. Did you subdue the bird at all before the surgeries?
Hello!
I have a Pekin duck that has its winb broken at the humurus. It is protruding through the skin. He doesn't seem to care which is incredible, but I don't think it can be left that way. I can't see how it would heal lik that. I think it should come off more than likely.
How in the...
