    Small Red Vertical Wound or sore on the Upper part of Chick's Vent...What is this????

    I have 32 Domnique chicks, 3 weeks old today and tomorrow. Several of them have this thin vertical line that looks like a wound (dark red) smack in the middle of the upper lip of their vent. Anyone know what this is? A Google search didn't turn up any clues.
