    Pig Issues {help please}

    About two weeks ago, we got our three fall pigs, all barrows, two crosses and a spot. Starting last Monday, the smallest of the three, a white and blue cross, was keeping one of his legs from bearing any kind of weight or pressure. Upon further inspection, his leg (hind left) was extremely...

    Straddle Leg?

    I think it may be an injury of some sort, since it just seemed to happen overnight. I don't know how he could have twisted it, though. I have tried the brace idea a couple times now, still trying to make something he and the others can't pick off. Thank you for this. :)

    Straddle Leg?

    Hi, one of my broad breasted bronze turkeys is showing some leg problems. He/she is about three weeks old. His hock bends inward, towards his other leg. Instead of his foot facing forward, it's completely twisted, and it faces to the side. Whenever he puts weight on it, it just slides out from...

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    We actually purchased her and five others from Fleet Farm. I received her vaccination papers that cover Pullorum-Typhoid. The rest of the flock seems fine so far, and I didn't change any methods of cleaning, feed, water, etc. And I washed out the feeders and cage she was using with bleach water.

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    She seems a lot better today. When I got to her cage, she was standing and she moved towards me. She was also "purring" (that's what I call those soft, cooing noises they make) which is a big improvement from yesterday, where she was hardly even able to stand and was dead silent. She still...

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    I have a question, if the cause of illness is worms or coccidiosis, how could she get it in the dead of winter? I've never had sick birds before, and our newest birds have been integrated in the flock several months ago. And I've read that coccidiosis is most common when it's hot and humid, so...

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    I just tried it, but it seems to be skipping a step and won't allow me to continue. :( And thanks for the reassurance. I just moved her in the garage for the night, and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get my family sick from her. My mom is really freaked out about it. Anyways...

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    Just making sure, since I'm a bit of a germophobe, whatever possible illnesses this bird may have, none of them can be contagious to humans, correct?

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    I was recommended by a few poultry friends of mine to not use medication unless absolutely necessary, so I don't worm my flock. I currently cannot post an image, but she stands hunched over and puffed up, as if she's in the cold. I am offering water but she is not drinking anything.

    Sick Hen... Help Please

    I am going to the coop now, I will feel between her pubic bones and her crop when I do. :) I have the apple cider water prepared and am currently cooking up an egg to mix with some wet bread to feed her. Thank you guys so much, I'll keep you updated on her condition.
