My husband is a wildlife specialist who deals with predators daily and he says most likely dogs. Coyotes have pups this time of year, but they are still in the den, not out hunting alongside mom.

We used silicon to hold our elbows in place. Maybe buy a bigger elbow if you need to.
We caulked all the joints in our coop to make it less appealing to fowl ticks, and no chickens have eaten it to my knowledge.
We just took this idea and ran with it for our significantly larger flock. I doubt we will ever fill the barrel up all the way, since feed dust will gather in the bottom, but I'm very excited to have a bulk feeder for $40ish and a free barrel.
