BB I started keeping chickens about four years ago. Since then my original three girls have all passed away. Now I have five: Ethel, Jolene, Jubilee, Dixie, and Dolly. I have a small cake business in addition to my real banking job. I use as many fresh eggs as I can get to make my cakes. I could use more chickens, but since I live in the city limits, I don’t want to push my luck and create a nuisance. It is easier to have them as pets than having them only as a source for food. I love to garden also. There is a sense of pride knowing that some of the food we eat comes from my tiny garden. I also know that no pesticides were used on my food. The same goes with my chickens. I know what I feed them and that they are not fed bad things.
