I have never seen this behavior before

One of the 5 is 2-1/2yrs and the other 4 are 1-1/2yr. They get a 16% layer crumble, cracked corn with some sunflower seed, raisins, oyster shell and some mealworms for treats along with leftover lettuce and whatever they forrage. The acv is a constant and they tolerate well. I am in Missouri...

    White egg from Buff Orpington

I am hoping so. She is a good bird and a survivor because I lost 2 others to predators and 5 to disease. I am rasing 4 more BO and they will start laying in August. The breed is great and I like working with them. Thanks for your reply.

    Mystery Attacker, quickly ending flocks!

I agree that camera will not solve the problem. Raccoons kill for sport not to eat chickens. They will eat eggs. Stop the raccoons and don't watch them do it again.

    Mystery Attacker, quickly ending flocks!

Monday nite is when it happened. I just went out into the coop and picked each one up and tried to hand feed them some grain. The lesser injured of the two ate some out of my hand the way they used to do when they were little. The other would not eat. I am encouraged by how much the one ate and...

It dragged one out of the coop, killed the other in the coop and mauled the other 2 with small cuts to face and neck. The remaining 2 are shell shocked and...
