    yes I will free range them in the spring. I will lose about half for start then the rest will fight insects for me.

    I am so pleased, I raised 13 bantam hens this spring, I said yesterday they would lay soon. I got 3 bantam eggs today. how good is that for predicting? I am thinking about doing away with my 10 big hen. the bantams will lay enough eggs for us and they eat very little feed.

    new ground for hens

    Being 75 years old I was unable to tend to my garden this year even if it was only a small one. I had my laying hens put in to a dog cage I had put on the garden. don't the hens look happy? The cage is 10ft. 10 ft.and when they eat all the green stuff I will have my helpers move the pen so more...
