What I've read is chickens should be wormed twice a year. I have some chickens that are 4 years old and they still lay. I think they can lay longer than that but they may slow down and the egg quality may go down.
You might want to try worming your chickens. Chickens get worms naturally from the food they eat out of the ground. So they almost always have them at some point. I worm mine a couple times a year.

Thanks! I've been given 5 roosters so far. 3 fled or were obliterated by predators. Seems like people don't want them around sometimes. But out in the country they fine company.
