    Thank you both for such fast responses! it's greatly appreciated at the current time we are just figuring out which chickens we would like - planning on 3 or 4 for eggs, and wanting them free range as much as possible. Hopefully that will keep the slugs down, and then we won't be worried about...

    Was just curious if I could put our 4 chickens in our fenced garden area as means of pest (slug) control, without them dystroying the garden? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
