Hello all;
New to chickens, have leg horn eggs in the incubator now that hatch this weekend. But I do raise chinese blue breasted "button" quail and have hatched out bobwhites as well.

I am about the same 20 miles South of Ithaca in Smithboro NY (across from Tioga Downs). I have 18 leg horn eggs in the incubator and raise button quail and just hatched bobwhites!

Thank you to everyone who replied. I have decided to get three different breeds. The Leghorn, Golden Campine, and Easter Egg Bantam. I am building three large areas where they will live. Each will be ten foot long, eight foot wide, and eight foot tall.
Thanks again everyone for your help...
Reason for only eating white eggs:
Honestly I cant taste a difference between white eggs and brown. My mother in law didn't think I could and tried a test 6 times, I always picked the brown eggs (cooked) and out of shell from the white. To me brown eggs taste too rich, they yokes are darker...
Looking for suggestion for white egg laying chickens that are good as "pets". We are building an pen that is 10 foot long, 5 foot wide, 6 foot tall, and want to have a few chickens that will live along with the two pekin ducks that we will have. These should be non-agressive as I have kids...
I am looking to purchase an incubator with fan, and also an egg turner I am going to hatch some Button Quail.
Thanks
Patrick

I am in need of a good used incubator for a learning project with my daughter. We want to hatch some chick to have as pets. If you have one that you would like to sell please let me know.
