We usually wait until after May 31st to direct sow or transplant any started plants because that's when the "danger of frost" is usually gone.
Well, this year we planted after the 31st of May and a few days later in JUNE we got a frost! :th
I was so mad!
Peonies are gorgeous! One of my favorite flowers (along with rose and tulip). I really want an old-fashioned English garden with more heirloom or antique type flowers.
The picture with the Rudbeckia and coneflower? is amazing! Look at all of those pollinators!
The strawberry is huge!
Definitely put some flowers out at your stand. Sunflowers are very popular. My mom and I (she worked as a florist for a bit) did just that and everything with sunflowers sold.
Yes, take photos of things you grow! It's fun to look back on the summer where it's warm and things are growing...
I love the thicker horses too. I was able to work with some Schwarzwalder Fuchs--the stallion was an absolute unit--long, thick mane! Very strong and sturdy.
I also like the cold blood temperaments--think before they react.
Akhal-Teke can have the most stunning, metallic coats!
Thank you...
@ChikaInu absolutely stunning horses! Love that they're allrounder types!
I love Ruben! I had a rooster named Rubin (short for Rubinstein, like the famous Oldenburg stallion).
My family comes from Halland, Sverige! I've tried learning Swedish, it's been a slow process LOL!
No, it was a documentary (should have used that to describe it). A camera crew went to Hideaway Farms and followed him and his rider, Carol, to a few shows, clinics and around the farm.
@paintedChix Yes, he had a movie made too!
"The Little Horse that Could" Maybe it's on YouTube?
It was very cute and a nice little dip into the behind the scenes look at Eventing.
Yes, Friesians don't do well in the heat! Some are even unable to sweat! During the summer I put mine out at night to avoid the sun and heat.
I adore Irish Cobs/Gypsy Vanners! Wouldn't mind one in my herd!
Fascinating about Teddy and Wynn!
Erin Go Bragh was our area's super pony back in the day!
I've always really liked ponies--they've been some of my best teachers!
