Sporadically setting on eggs
When a peahen is deciding on whether or not to set on her eggs, she spends most of the day on the nest and then will leave at night or sporadically during the day. My question is if that interrupts the development of the eggs so much as to make them “bad”? -
No eggs
Do peahens skip a season? I have a 4 yo hen that has in the past seasons started laying at the end of April/beginning of May. Last year she went broody by the beginning of June and had a clutch of about 13 eggs. So far this season she has not laid one egg. The male has mated with her but still... -

Chick questions

Thanks for posting all this info. I had a chick hatch yesterday under the hen, but she left him out, I guess he couldn’t walk too good. It was over 110 degrees here in AZ, when I finally intervened the chick was lifeless. A long night of water/electrolytes and it is more alert and active-but... -
