    If parasites and diseases are ever present in the soil, how can I treat the dirt? My coops are too heavy to move around to fresher ground. Should the run be raked hard and diatomaceous earth sprinkled in? Would that help? How much is safe?

    Hello, everyone. I am a new chicken owner and new to the BYC. I live in Ocala, Fl. and have 5 hens.........2 BO, 1 Australorp, 1 mix, 1 Plymouth Rock. I am getting a bigger coop and more chickens.
