    Duck isolating herself

Lol. I've seen those fake eggs at the store. How does that work? Do you just leave them in the duck house for them? Do they just give up on them after 28 days? Or do you take them away eventually?

    Duck isolating herself

Thanks so much! She does want to sit on the eggs but we've been taking them... Not ready to expand the flock. I will separate them more officially right now and give them a break. Poor girls. I was afraid that might happen.

    Duck isolating herself

Hello, I am hoping someone may have some thoughts for me. We have 6 ducks, a variety of breeds -3 male and 3 female hatched last July. The last few days one of the females has really been isolating herself from the rest. She appears to be the male's favorite having thin feathers on the back of...

    Ducks eggs pipping, possible malposition?

Hello, I'm am hoping to get some advice! I have 4 assorted duck eggs at day 28 today. Thanks so much! I didn't get my answer here but a little patience did the trick. Sadly after another day it was very obvious this was a rotten egg! Oh well. Fingers crossed we'll have better luck with the rest!

How to tell if eggs are fetilized

Hi! I have a question.... I have a few clear eggs in my incubator. I am planning on giving them a little more time but when I do give up on them if I crack them open should they have blood spots if they were fertilized? In other words, do all fertilized eggs have the red spot or only the...

    Farmer's Market eggs

WOW! That's wild! And a little sad! I wish we could have a better backyard garden but our yard is way too shady. Great for hanging out in but not for growing things!

    Anxious Egg Hatching Newbie

Hello! I am new to this site and new to hatching eggs but am a long time duck lover! This is very exciting. :) I got 11 assorted eggs from Metzer's early Thursday afternoon and put them in the incubator Thursday evening. Should I have let them sit longer even if the weather is mild here...
