    Broody Hen Thread!

    What leads me to believe that she is Brody is the following, she spends a lot of time in her nesting box. When I lift up the nesting box lid she puts her head down and puffs up. Also she is making little cluck noises. Her eyes look clear and normal there is no discharge from her nose or anywhere...

    My two girls have been laying an egg a day each since they started laying about a month ago. Now, from what I have read, it seems, one of my girls has become broody...how is that possible? I have no Rooster and eggs are removed within about 30 minutes( or less) of being laid.... I am very new...

    My two Cochin girls were born the last week in Feb and we had our first Egg yesterday afternoon. My Hubby calls it the $800 egg. Between cost of coop, organic feed, organic veggies etc. LOL. He actually may be close !

    My two Cochin girls will be twenty weeks at months end....the egg countdown has begun however I have been told this breed matures slowly and are late layers....so...I check the nesting boxes twice a day....So excited.
