Hi, I'm after a bit of advice if any one can help! I have just hatched 2 chicks which are now in my Brooder. Outside I have a broody who has just hatched 4 chicks of her own at the same time as the other 2 (so they are all the same age). Will she accept the ones that are in my brooder and let...

    HELP! First hatch!

I promise not to open it! It has a little peep hole so I can spy on them that way ha ha. The temp has seemed to be very correct and constant apart from the last 3 days when it has risen half a degree. Not sure what the reason for that would be?

    HELP! First hatch!

Hi everyone, after a disastrous first ever hatch where nothing hatched I decided to try again and now it's day 18 and one egg (of eight) has signs of external pipping. Mega excited! Isn't day 18 a bit early to be pipping out? Also I have read that a chick can be left in incubator for up to 48...

    Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

Yes I am! Putting them in to incubator this evening. It will be a total surprise as to what they are as we got the eggs from friends who have loads of hens and when they collect them they dont keep a check on what was from who. Last time I had no chicks hatch but it was my first time and I have...

    Day 22 and no peeping/pipping

hi, no they weren't shipped, got them from a guy we know. I have taken into account your advice about keeping humidity higher from the start. (even tho the incubator says don't put water in till day 18) and will keep very close eye on temperature to make sure there are no dips or highs this...

    Day 22 and no peeping/pipping

Yes very disappointing! 18 eggs! Feel a bit sad really :o( all those little wasted lives!! Gutted if it's sOmething I have done wrong. I followed the incubators instructions to the letter ( they said don't add water till day 18) and the temp has been pretty much steady from day one as it is in...

    Day 22 and no peeping/pipping

Nothing happening I'm afraid :o( we have had eggs from this seller before (local not shipped) and we put them under a broody and they were fine got some lovely chicks. So think it may be a problem with incubator or something we have done.

    Day 22 and no peeping/pipping

Thank you all so much for your speedy replies! Much appreciated! I will have a little tap on their shells later and candle them again. I'll have to do this quickly tho won't I as I have been told to not open the incubator after day 18 (I have done to add water tho)
