The two black ones look like cockerels to me. Not sure about the last white one. The first white one is a pullet. They all look like barnyard breeds to me.
I had a frizzle bantam that will yell at me when it was time to go back to the coop. That bird had the best personality! I want to get another, but they are hard to find here.
I have 13. One of my hens ((Small-tux) don't ask about the name) went broody, so we are letting her incubate an egg. She has moved to a birthing room in my garage as the chick should hatch any day now. We can't wait to see if we are successful. If this works we might do it again in a month or...
I'd build the walls, finish the run and put a few things in for them to roost on. You can finish the final details when they are in there. By the way, TSC sells Easter eggers (still great birds) so you can get either green, blue or pink/brown eggs from them. You will like the personality and...
I have two TSC for my 14 birds. It is only used to hold their food and for them to lay and sleep in. They free range in a fenced off section (roughly 15x10) and some fly over the gate (only 3 feet tall) and walk my fenced in back yard. To help it last longer I put it on landscaping pavers to...
I keep the food in the coops, so no invited guests eat it. Feed scratch in the common area in the morning and they free range in the yard during the day. I have 10 birds and go through roughly 50lbs a month. I think the 4 foot black snake and the feral cats keep the rodent population under...
My only problem would be some of my neighbors stealing my chickens! On the serious side Wal Marts and food stores will NEVER close, so get stuff there. They will not stop our food supply because they know it will bring chaos. I just bought a two month supply of food for all of my animals, so...
Maybe put something underneath the brooder to insulate it from the floor. Otherwise something might be wrong with the bulb.
Also, welcome to the roost!
My family and I have had the pleasure of raising chickens for roughly 5 years. We still have three of the four birds I first bought. There are ten outside in my coops and four in a brooder in the garage. We enjoy getting different breeds every time, so my flock is very unique and my egg...
All of my older girls (hens) have taken the winter off. My three pullets give me about a dozen eggs a week total. I can't wait until that day in the spring when I see eggs in the other coop!
