Hello, I have 5 hens and a roo. I have noticed that in the 30 degree weather my cuckoo maran hen is seeming to be cold.she is keeping her head tucked close in with her neck. Her feet are also cold. Anyone know why?
I agree with the whole depends on breed thing. My EEs and Cuckoo Maran have been consistent layers but not a one from my Barred Rock. One of my EEs hasnt laid yet, so it could also just be an individual thing
Intheswamp, since this picture was taken we actually have got a tarp that we put up whenever its too hot for them, Ill go out and take more pics tonight
When I mean darker I mean her back feathers, and only one of our 5 hens have started laying and it is our Cuckoo Maran. Our Ameracuanas have started nesting though
Wow, Really? Theyve never done that and were doing it in the morning when I woke up. Do you think they did it all night? And is there something I can do to help them?
