I drove an HR away to a tsc because they had salmon faverolles got three salmons and one random that I think is a red ranger that was in the wrong bin? Hubby liked her so I got her too lol
So I have these approx 2-3 month old wyandottes, the gray one in the second pic jumps on others backs while they're laying down and bites their necks and goes to town. At first I thought it was a dominance thing but now I'm noticing "he" is a bit larger than the others and the comb and wattles...
My first girls are between 16-18 weeks now from tsc, at least one of them (the golden comet on the far right) I believe will start laying any day, shes started squatting and raising her shoulders when I pet her so shes definitely ready lol
So I picked these babies up at r.k. and was told they're broad breasted bronze. They were the only 2 left in the bin, but now they're growing very white feathers, is that normal?
I thought this little one was a male because of the darkness on the legs but now the feathers dont seem light enough and I'm thinking pullet but im new to chickens so does anyone else have an opinion? Either way she/he is definitely top chicken lol
I'm a chicken newb , are these all red laced wyandotte pullets? (Not including the barred rock) that is what they wrote them down as but the light gray one looks very different to me
Took their crate out back today to get some fresh air and sun because the weather is perfect. They all look very scruffy and I cant wait to see them fully feathered!
Jinx is super sweet and adventurous. Shes also larger and more feathered out than the other two which I expected because the breed description said they grow faster. They've all grown to trust me and enjoy flying all over me and climbing up my arms lol
I moved my chicks from the brooder to a cage as they're quite flight happy, they've been extremely happy since the move, I've put wood chips in the litter pan as well as their food and I put them in there at night to let them know it's time for sleep and they've gotten used to it now. Once in a...
So, I got all three of my chicks from a pullet bin at tsc and just assumed they'd all be PULLETS, now after reading whatever I could find on the "asian black" breed I realize it's entirely possible Jinx may be a boy... so this is going to become more of a "is she or isnt she" centered thread lol
Caught eevee dust bathing today it's about the cutest thing I've ever seen lol i used to watch the peacocks do this when I worked at my local zoo and it never gets old !
