I have 6 lavender Ameraucana eggs with 6 dancing embryos inside! I love to candle them... I try not to be too obsessive, lol :) Good luck on your quail. Wish I had room for some.
My neighbors will toss blueberries over the fence to my hens, and my alpha, Penny, growls the other chickens away. She also clucks at the mailman when the dogs bark at him.
My silkie isn't a swimmer, but she does love to drink out of the water hose! Whenever I water plants she comes running. I turn down the hose to a trickle so she can ger her drink, and then she's happy. Such a funny girl!
I rehomed my two baby roos 2 weeks ago when they began crowing. I loved them and hated to see them go, but the lady that took them lives on a ranch outside town and keeps a flock of 80 on 5 acres. She kissed my cockerels' little faces when she picked them up so I know they'll be loved at her...
My bantam Light Brahma cockerel crowed at 10 weeks. Pitiful! Scared himself to death and I burst out laughing. That little thing gave me the stink eye and stomped off. Loved it.
You guys feed your chickens so well I think I'm going to bring my own spoon and hide in your coops at dinnertime. You're all making me hungry. :)
I tossed mine a handful of just-getting-mushy cherry tomatoes, and they went wild!
