Shes doing much better on the second day, you could tell! :wee
the chicks are now about a month old, all going better than ever.
checked for mites or lice, no sign of that...

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry i haven't posted in a while...
The chicks are doing just fine, all running around and chirping!
though we have some problems.
We've just discovered that we have rats in our coop that come to visit at night...
Though that happened, that's not one of out biggest...
hey, sorry I haven't posted in a while.
The chick is doing great, we did put him under the hen and she easily accepted him.
we even got the chick 3 new siblings because then he would have been alone.
The mom liked that, she accepted all 3!
we have a small happy family now!

Wow really? we dont have snow, i live in California.
I'm just worried that the mother wont accept it and kill it...
the mother hen is very mean to the other hens in her flock...

I have another question though, we want to put our broody mom in our big aluminum tin, that sits inside of the garage. Since we want her to raise the chick and its way to cold outside for that right now. I have made a nest for her in the tank and she seems to like it. we put here there...

most of the eggs i hatched made their first hole just like this one, none of them had died, in fact they all hatched on their own...

Alright, I have left it in the incubator…

(our incubator is see through so I didn’t take the egg out of it while taking the picture.)
I am trying to make a decision of putting the egg back under the mother for hatching but I'm afraid the mother will step on it when the chick hatches.
