Anyone know of any bird selling events around the Sedalia area up to an hour away like warrensburg, columbia, jeff city area, or lake ozarks area coming up? I saw Jacobs cave, what's the details on that?

My broody hens share a nest and lost their only two that started to hatch so they are going another round. I bought some day old chicks to hopefully adopt and they have taken them in and still take turns sitting on the nest and caring for the chicks! I was worried that they may stop sitting but...

I'm soooo excited too! Do you think if I open the broody pen and let the chicks start going out both moms would leave...

I don't know who says not to have emotions towards animals, I love these guys as much as my cat and dog. In fact I went in a few days ago and one of my chickens is limping and pulling its leg behind ( don't know what happened) and I asked a couple of people including my husband what to do for an...

Ok, I used chicken wire and went out at dark and first took the hens off for them to stretch and get a snack then after a couple minutes they got back on and I chicken wired the front so the others don't get back in the box. Then tomorrow morning I will go out and put them out for a couple...

I have a Cochin who is broody on a new set of eggs going on almost a week (second round so she had been on this next over a month, but gets out when I bring snacks each day). She picked the highest nesting box so I'm worried when babies come. I am working on a new coop this week and making a...
