I am looking for some of the paper egg trays for quail eggs. I have the Texas A&Ms and was wondering if they would fit in the regular quail egg trays such as the ones from GQF or if I might need something like the chukar egg trays.
I live in Georgia and have started raising coturnix. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of permits I might need to sell the processed birds(meat) and the eggs for eating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone on here crossed a Rhode Island rooster over Delaware hens and kept the cockerels for meat? How did they turn out? I'm interested in trying to start raising more of our own meat instead of having to buy from the grocery store.
We hatched some pure white leghorns off of our layers. They are about four weeks old and the roosters are already crowing. Has anyone had this happen before and what might have caused them to do this? And is this bad for them to be maturing this young?
I have a sick quail that is seven weeks old. It just stands there with its head down on the floor and its eyes closed. When it does try to move it falls over and flaps around. Its not eating or drinking. Any idea as to what it may be? Its been like this for about 3 or 4 days and none of the rest...
Do any of you feed grit to your quail. I have been feeding a locally made quail feed and lately have noticed that the manure still has what looks like cornmeal in it.
Do y'all give your quail something to dust in? What should I use, diatomaceous earth, sand, or a mixture or what? I'm new to quail and want to know anything to help me keep them healthy.
