Yeah I’m thinking it’s a fluke. She’s been on the same layer feed, Purina, since I started giving them layer feed. She has probably laid a good 10-12 eggs since the molt. She’s usually my consistent layer. I do give treats of salad, corn, blueberries and blackberries. And of course grumblies
I have an 11 month old olive Egger who hadn’t laid in 2 days and then l found 3 soft shell eggs in the poop hammock from overnight. She’s acting fine, eating drinking etc. Historically she’s a good layer. She was molting in one area in Feb and stopped laying but started laying end of...
We live in Massachusetts and our neighbors 2 houses down told us about a fisher in their back yard. We abut a wooded area. Hoping it was just passing through...
So my friend who incubated...she wonders if she has roos. What are the tell "tail" signs? Their tail feathers right? WHat else do you see that makes you sure? I appreciate your info
Since I already have an established Roo who is almost 15 weeks older, will these roos take a longer time to crow? Will they even since they are the more inferior? Any insight would be appreciated from your experience. Thanks
Thanks so much! I know it's just speculation, but do you think the flock knows they are Roos and that's why they are making sure they are put in their place? Do you think there's any possibility of them living harmoniously together? 3 roos lol lol lol
Thanks I had a sneaky suspicion. I already have a roo and the flock seems relentless with bothering them..Do you think they know they're both Roos as well or is it just standard chicken posturing.
Fall Greetings Chicken peeps!!
I have two 11 week old chickens that were incubated by a friend. I already have a rooster with 4 other hens. The flock are not at all welcoming. I think both are Roos but would love your expertise. As always I thank for your knowledge! ♥️
Yes exactly!! And the first 2 from her were that deep olive. In addition to the 5, 9 positions, the 1:00 is also hers. I have not seen a deep olive since. On another BYC site, someone suggested she might be an Easter Egger. The hatchery we got them all from is pretty reputable and they did not...
The OE started laying at 18 weeks before I started giving them layer feed. The first couple eggs from the OE were soft olive green. Other girls in my flock had soft eggs. So I introduced layer feed and oyster shells . Got hard eggs from OE that were olive. Now for the past 2 weeks, the eggs...
