    We got him from a neighbor, along with 3 elderly Marans mixes - dark blue black hens. So, he may indeed have Cuckoo. We will hopefully know around Nov 1st!

    Thanks for the reply. Do you have a guess what kind of chicken the rooster is? He's probably a mix, has some brown or tan on his neck.

    Thanks, Chatty! Yes the eggs are very pretty. The EE hens recently stopped laying - probably due to the season change. The Red Comets are still going strong so we have plenty of nice brown eggs to go round.
