She knows the mom hen. It's a hen with her 2 chicks they are over 12 weeks old now and they have been next to each other for a few weeks now. And I'm going to make sure shes fully healed before I put her in there.
I didnt see anymore bleeding happening and I put some antibacterial spray on her that's meant for chickens. Shes away from all the chickens and shell stay there until she is healed then I'm going to put her with my other chickens and see if that helps.
I put some spray on it which made everything purple. I did not see continued bleeding after everything was clean. I'm not sure if my other hens were picking on her. I'm planning on putting her with my other hens and seeing if that's better.
I went outside to let my chickens out when I noticed my hen was bleeding from the rear area. I got her inside washed it. But I'm still not sure what happened. Any advice would be very helpful
Yes we sprayed every bird, by the vent, under wings, neck, anywhere they were losing feathers, belly. I rubbed the spray in to the point I had dead mites on my gloves.
I got her from someone online, her and 4 others. The only other chicken who doesn't have feathers somewhere is my rooster but he plucked his out a month ago when my hen had chicks. All the other hens have feathers or lost some due to mating. I'm just worried they won't grow back. It scares me...
I noticed my rooster is plucking his chest feathers out it started when my hen went broody and was laying on eggs he's missing a patch of feathers on his chest. I'm not sure if he was helping or something else. It worries me because he's never done this and he's 4 years old.
