We converted an 8x14 shed to a coop. There's roosting bar with poo board along the back. It's 24" deep with the roosting bar in the middle and there's rarely any poo on the walls. One thing I wasn't prepared for was for them to roost on the edge of the poo board so I ended up making the edges...
This makes sense. Momma protected them for a while, but she's way over it.
Total run space is 750 sq ft. While I separate them, each will get half.
👍I just put the feelers out a couple days ago. I'm not going to give up on rehoming them very easily.
I need some advice!
My neighbor is moving and has all but abandoned her rooster and 2 hens. I go over every day and care for them and I am planning to bring them to my house this weekend since she's not doing anything to find them a new home. I tried, but there haven't been any takers. The...
I made mine a little higher, and I'm glad I did. I also have a lip on the board which my chickens decided was great for roosting (my board is elevated off the floor). It was only a 1x4, so I had to add a 2x4 next to it so they had an adequate roosting bar. I think the bar around 16" above the...
Do you have a picture of your setup you could share? I have a 10x14 foot coop and a 25x16 foot run, and want to add on a large netted area, probably 25x40 feet, and I'm having a hard time finding the best way to go about it.
I used the same size wood for our poo box frame and the chickens roosted on it at night. I had to put another 2x4 with the wide side up for them. I'm not saying yours will do the same, but be prepared for them to do the exact opposite of what you planned 😅
Made a litte pallet A-frame for the chicks this week. They really like climbing it and sleeping under it😊
I cut about 15" off the end of the pallets leaving 1 bottom stringer and 2 top stringers that will be made into shelves for spray paint cans. Eventually 😆
Y'all, this is A Boy Named Sue (was Susan until he started crowing 😆). His crest droops to his right, and when he looks at things he tilts his head to see it with his uncovered eye. He understandably gets freaked out when things come at him from his blind side.
Would you cut the feathers and...
