My broody hen hatched one solo baby about 6.5 weeks ago and thinking it's a Roo. Thoughts? Not sure who the genetic mom is but Dad is a white americauna. I have easter egger, barnvelder, RIR, gold and silver wyandottes, black copper Maran, and mystic maran hens that could be possible mom...
So originally I thought this lil one was a roo bc of wattles and reddening comb at 3-4 weeks but questioning it now as they are not getting significantly larger/redder yet and bc of the full lacing... this is update at 7 weeks now... I have recently read that even GLW pullets can get wattles...
Update 6 weeks old now... and added few pics of ones I think are pullets I've been fairly certain are pullets... I'm still concerned about the light grey one being a roo ... my OE(brown mix) still stands like a roo but looks like a pullet to me... so weird... only time will tell 🤷♀️ thanks for...
The grayish one is started to get a little pink in the upper comb and some reddish color to back/wings... are these signs leaning towards cockerel now?? 😒

I don't know just what I was told at the local Agway... I got it at one day old and looked similar to my golden laced wyandotte chick I got the day before but feathering out different... I know its early I just have never raised a barnevelder before 🤷♀️
