    Drake mating ducklings

When can I allow my drake to mate my ducklings? 4 months? I have a 1 year old Drake and 2 ducklings at 2 months now. The drake has always been super aggressive with the ducklings pulling feathers and grabbing them by the neck, so I’ve kept them separate. At 2 months, he is trying to mate with...

    Runner Drake Harassing Ducklings

I recently got new runner ducklings and my drake will not leave them alone. He chases them down, pins them, pulls feathers and even looks like he’s trying to mount them at times by holding them down like he does my female. I keep them separated and only bring the ducklings (6 weeks now) around...

    Duck quack meanings

I've noticed my ducks have different quacks for things and I've been trying to interpret them. Has anyone else successfully figured out their duck's quacks? Mine do a funny thing when I either approach them or leave, and it alkost sounds like they're laughing at me. It cracks me up. It's a...

    Boy or girl?

I think so too. The white one has also started biting and mounting the others in the pool.

    Boy or girl?

It was around 6 weeks or so when I started being suspicious. My white runner is by far growing the quickest but "she" doesn't have a quack, it sounds more like a honk or a squeal as in the video and there's also the tail feather. The black one doesn't make any sound at all when she quacks. It's...

    Boy or girl?

Bummer. I really didn't want a male duck, so I'm not sure what to do with this little guy. Thanks!

    Boy or girl?

I have 4 eight week old ducks, which I received from Metzer as sexed females. 2 of them are exhibiting behavior of males: my white and black runners. The white duck has a hoarse voice and the black runner is almost silent when she quacks, it sounds like a whisper. The white duck also has a...

    Feeding/watering solutions

Does it work for drinking if they have a pond to get their heads under?

    Feeding/watering solutions

Ok, that's the kind of answer I was expecting. Haha they are incredibly messy, but that's just how they roll.

    Feeding/watering solutions

I am wondering people's solutions to messy food and water issues with their ducks. Currently, my ducks have a waterer and feeder mounted in the exterior of the coop, but they make a big mess of both which creates a stinky, fly swarming mess that smells like waste. They drag crumbs out onto the...

    Beginning of Angel Wing?

I let them play in a kiddie pool a couple times a day, but yes, that's their only 24/7 water source right now.

    Beginning of Angel Wing?

Ok thank you for the tips! I bought a duck starter with 22% protein and niacin. And they're all runner ducks! I'll definitely keep a close eye on the wings. It's tough to find any good visual depictions of what the start of AW looks like, so I'll post again if it looks like it's getting "worse."

    Beginning of Angel Wing?

My ducklings are about 3 weeks old and they are starting to grow feathers in a weird pattern. Does this look like normal feather growth? First time duck dad here.
