Chicks are just over a month old now (Bindi still has a slight unbalance to her walk, is smaller and maybe is a tiny slower than the rest but otherwise is doing fantastic!) and all the chickies are just loving their new home with plenty of room!! Still have to build some nesting boxes...

It may have been injured by the bigger birds. If they start to trample on her or peck her I'd divide off a section if the brooder that is private for her. I think hard boiled egg yolks (just a little crumbled on top of her food) might entice her to eat and thru eating shell get stronger!

Sugar water or honey water? I've read to give that to weak chicks to give them a boost of energy...good luck, she is darling!

Update!! Bindi is standing and walking!!! Her strength is returning and the paralysis is leaving!!! All chicks are growing and are very active!!

Interesting! They only used two?!? Has anyone had the problem if hens sleeping in the nest boxes?

We have 23 chicks 19 for sure females 4 straight runs so potentially 23 hens...we have the space to build 23 boxes but is that necessary or even good? A neighbor has 43 chickens (2 roosters) and only 5 nesting boxes bc she said many of her hens have slowed on laying (old age) and they will sleep...
