I’m going to the store first thing in the morning when the sun rises to get what they need. I’m nervous it might’ve spread to a different coop, so I’ll be doing a lot of cleaning this weekend!
Hello, I need help identifying what bugs are on my frizzles! Today I had time to go into all my coops to check on everybody after a crazy week, and noticed something wrong with a few of my chickens. They have these weird bugs hanging off of their faces. I know they’re alive, because I saw one...
Hello everybody, I have a few questions about the frizzle gene. At the moment I have 3 frizzle hens and 1 frazzle hen in a coop with my silkie rooster. I’ve been getting frizzle and flat feathered satin chicks, but wanted to ask if the flat feathered satins would breed the same as a normal...
I don’t think those live here or anywhere close. I have however caught 2 small skunks, they looked like babies. But after those, we haven’t caught anything or seen more digging. Tonight was the first night I didn’t lock them away in their houses and when I checked in the morning everyone was...
It was going through the roof which had a layer of wire and tough harder cloth all around. I had put horseshoe nails to hammer the fencing in and the bobcat just tore it off. How am I supposed to make that harder to get it?
This was the bobcat, it killed over 13 chickens and ducks
There was eventually another one that started killing them too, it just tore the fencing off the roof and squeezed in a gap half a foot wide. We saw it pacing up there on our trail camera carrying one of my roosters.
The bobcat I had took 1-2 chickens or ducks every night. I don’t know if it had babies or if it was just hungry, but it just kept taking them. The only way we caught it was foot hold traps since it would pace around the cage before actually going in.
I have a little update about my situation. My brother enjoys hunting and shooting anything he can, so he volunteered to set up a little tent and do some hunting. I had made a pile of my dead birds as I talked about before behind my coops, but he couldn’t see them from where he was at. He...
Well the coops that I have are pretty big, about 8 feet wide and 13 feet long for my adults. They’re built/ cemented into the ground so I couldn’t move them even if I wanted. My medium coops aren’t really movable either since they weight so much, but I have 3 small ones I bought for my babies...
I posted a picture similar to this, it has pretty big gaps, used for when I had goats, but it’s been working really well. I set a small coop on top of it so it hangs out pretty far and still hangs on the inside a little so nothing can dig underneath. It’s my big coops however that I might need...
I have a trail camera facing the front my chickens coops, but I have so many in different places the camera can’t catch them all. I think it’s going behind the chicken coops if it’s not going in front of the camera. I’m located in west Texas. I do also have hardware cloth around my coops. It’s...
Hello, so I’ve been having a predator visit every night for the past week. I have no clue what to do I’ve tried everything I could from nailing up more wire to setting up traps. I’ve lost chickens ranging from hatchlings to full grown chickens. So far it’s been week old chicks, about 20 of them...
