You're the best!
Is there any information about the village chickens? I know they do not have standards, but they could be considered a landrace, like the Icelandic chicken.
I am looking for the names and standards for all the African breeds. Very little is known about African chickens in the United States and I am trying to compile more information. Any help you are able to give is greatly appreciated!
Hello! I am not in South Africa, but I would *love* to know more about the Boschvelder breed! They are so pretty! Do they have a standard? I would love any info on them!
Pat, my garden is doing pretty well despite the rain. Although it is raised beds....LOL It bothers me more in the chicken runs. Those things have been soggy horrid messes for months now. Ugg! Really need to go muck them out. Been avoiding it for awhile.
Clover Run: Your offer is over 2 weeks old. Are those eggs still good? I know with some of my breeds, I only have that amount of eggs for a limited time.
Yes. If he is silver you would get 100% Blue. Keep in mind that Lavender can look kinda like blue, so I would say keep the babies until they feather and look at the boys VS the girls. If the girls seems to have more of a brown tint to them, then I would say he is Lilac. If they all look the...

I will post what happened with my baby for anyone else in the future who is also looking for answers.

I did nothing at all for my little guy other then...
There was never a reply to this, but what happened to your chick?
I have one *exactly* like this. The dried out membranes, the frothing, everything. It is acting normal and I feel it might have been struggling so much it ruptured it's lungs a little bit. Not much as it must have already...

Nothing. Unless the flock you get yours from have been bred with recessive white Javas, and you randomly manage to get a bird that is hiding that gene, there is no way, short of a random mutation or deletion in the DNA (which you cannot control) to get a white bird.
If you want white...
