3 month old drake attacking older female

Thank you! Would you hold onto both the other males longer to determine personality? I know a 2 to 5 ratio wont work in the long run.

3 month old drake attacking older female

We have 2 year old ancona females. 3 months ago we hatched 6 duckling. 3 male and 3 female. One of the males was often kept far away from their little flock by the other 2 males. We decided to keep the ostracized one due to his coloring and separated the other 2 drakes from the rest. For the...

    Rhode Island Red small yolks

Our Rhode Island Reds are 5 months old and are laying well but their yolks are tiny. They are half the size of our other chickens. Is this a characteristic of this breed?

    Help! Cracked egg Day 16

Made it until 4th days before hatch and then it died. Suspect infection since the egg turned dark around the crack and then spread. Thank you for asking! Next time I’ll isolate the broody hen from the other chickens.

The other egg was still in the box but one of the hens had pecked it. Membrane is broken in one place and dime sized area has no...

Do I keep eggs with damaged air cells upright during hatch?

They have been large end up the whole time, rotated and tilted 45 degrees 3 times a day. Day 14 now.

Do I keep eggs with damaged air cells upright during hatch?

We have 9 duck eggs that had damaged air cells successfully incubating at a 45 degree angle. Do we leave them in this orientation during lock down and hatch? I can’t imagine they won’t turn the egg carton over as they work on hatching.
