I ended up helping it this morning and so far it is fine, everything looks normal, it's just a little weak and I'm thinking that's from giving its little all to trying to hatch.
It has been over 30hrs so I opened the incubator to check on it, the membrane was dry, followed the zip line it started and took off small pieces of shell and left the membrane alone. I did pinch the membrane a little and it started to bleed, so I moistened the memo with warm water and stuck it...
Thank you for the information, this is my 3rd time incubating, I have helped chicks in the past and have removed hatched chicks and flipped pippeds I have had both good and bad outcomes from it. I have never been told how long to wait to help and I don't want to trial and error when it comes to...
I have an egg that I noticed pipped yesterday around 10am, it started to zipper a couple hours after that, but I haven't noticed any more progress. It is now 1pm the next day, how long should I wait before I need to help it? It's still moving and peeping.
Over the weekend I bought a 40lb bag of Purina Layena PLUS Omega-3 Poultry Feed and didn't think to check if it was ok to feed to ducks. I just checked the bag and it doesn't say anything about ducks. My chickens and ducks live together so they eat the same food. Thank you.
Thank you for the information. The main reason I was asking is because, we had a family emergency come up and in the midst of that I didn't realize we were low on, their feed and we live in a small town, where everything is closed until Tuesday, for the holidy. So I was going to make them some...
Can I make food for my 3-4 week old Chicks and Ducks out of what I have at home? I have, lentils, barley, oatmeal, meal worms, frozen peas, eggs and cornmeal. Just curios if any of that mixed would be nutritious enough for them and if so, how much of each to use. Thank you!
You sure saved me a heart attack. I didn't know I would fall in love with the little ducks, but I did the instant I saw them :) Thank you again I really appreciate it!
