Thank you @Wyorp Rock and @Eggcessive for the suggestions!!! There wasn't any swelling and, unfortunately, it got to the point where she couldn't use her legs so we decided to do the humane thing and put her down. So far, none of the others have shown similar symptoms so I hope it was just an...
They are on chick feed, alfalfa, natural grass, and extra protein treats from me :) I gave them some probiotics but have not tried extra vitamins. I posted a video from yesterday but she seems to have progressed a bit. I'll try to upload a new one later today. Thanks for the suggestion!!
I have seven chicks that hatched around 3/1. Their 'mama' left them about a week ago to go back with the rest of the flock and one of my roosters has adopted them. I still have them separated since we have cats and I want to make sure they're big enough to get away if necessary. I went out to...
So the vet prescribed teremyacin and it seems to be working. It had gotten to where their ear holes were fully exposed but I'm finally seeing new feather growth!!
I mixed 1/4 tsp of this Teremyacin powder into a gallon of water and gave it to the two girls for 10 days as their only source of...
Two of my girls had very swollen crusty eyes over a week ago. I sent a pic to the vet and he prescribed teremyacin (a powder that I put in their water). We are on day 8 and they are both looking much better!!
Thank you Wyorp Rock! I shared the pics with my vet and am waiting for a call back. No coughing, mucus, etc.. or mites that I could find. But yes - there is swelling but just on the right.... it looks like my other broody bantam is starting to get the peeling skin on her head too but no...
This is 'baby girl' - a 1.5 year old bantam that we adore. She is quite broody and I've been letting her sit on a nest with eggs recently. When I checked on her tonight her right eye was closed and the skin around both eyes as well as her comb looked crusty and dry. Any ideas about what this...

Well, not great news... I soaked her a few more times, put the prolapse back in again, and made a sling with vet wrap to hold it in for a little while. Somehow she got the sling off and it was hanging out again when I checked on her. So I had to make the very tough decision ;(. At least...
Thanks so much Eggcessive for all of the suggestions and support. The prolapse was out again early this morning and as I've read more, I'm afraid that I didn't didn't discover it early enough. Even with all of the soaking and honey, the prolapse is still black and what I thought was a split...
I just checked on her and unfortunately, she had prolapsed again ;(. I put more honey on it and stuck it back in again but shes not looking good. I can't get her to drink any electrolytes! Any suggestions?
Thanks so much! I soaked her in an epsom salt bath for quite awhile before taking those pics as she was quite a mess. I covered the red ball (I guess the cloaca?) in honey and stuffed it back in. Soon after that she went to the bathroom which seemed like a good thing (right?). Given the...
I'm not sure what this is so I don't know whether to push it back in or pull it out...please help!!! It feels like there is a string holding it in. The 'skin' around the bloody ball feels like the membrane from an egg and it is split in multiple places.
