Cayuga ducks and winter
we live in kc,mo & coffee cans(plastic now) work great. i simply keep rotating when it freezes. depends on the wind chill how often you change them out. the ducks will be ok overnight-- just water them first thing in the morning.. -
Introducing young (new) ducks to older ducks
Put them in at night time.when they are big enuf. My 2 male Pekins started fighting at puberty & never stopped.A female or 2 well solve the fighting. Good duck!! -

My Pekin Duckling has a Leg Problem
Hey my ducks are clumsy &prone to leg sprains & limps .While a blast to watch waddling off to their next adventure they just do not see any reason to detour around anything. I pick up twigs but to no avail. One day poetry in motion & the next day crash bam boom. Most heal quickly. Yours sounds... -

A man told me to introduce the new ones at night.he has done it that way for years .It worked for me. I am hatching turkeys & ducks right now .4 eggs left to hatch out of 14.So far I got 4 duckys & 2 turks live & well. 5 adult ducks & a female turkey patrol my yard daily. Enjoy. Pekins are good...
