CHICKEN IS NOT MOVING and it’s 13 degrees outside!

One of the Hens has been looking pretty miserable this past month, and now she stopped moving and eating all together! I put her in a bin in the garage with hay, oatmeal and a heat pad. I’m not sure if she is egg bound or anything but I just wanted to get her out of the cold… if anyone knows...

1 month old chick gasping for air

I’m not sure if this works for adult chickens but in the past when my chicks got lethargic and looked like they were gasping I gave them sugar dissolved in water to help them get their energy back. It also stopped the gasping. Your bird probably has something different though. I hope she gets...

    My chick is behaving strangely

Hi y’all, my 2-3 week old chick will start gasping at night and lowering her wings and hanging her head low. During the day she is perfectly fine though, active, cheeping, and eating and drinking properly. I gave her sugary water. She doesn’t have pasty butt or anything. This morning she...

    Fox attack

I have no experience whatsoever in helping to heal birds, but in the past I’ve sprinkled ghost pepper powder on my chickens and around their coop , for predators hate spice and birds don’t mind. I hope your bird gets better!

Two of my girls dead and one hurt badly

So sorry to hear, I have no experience in bird wounds but in case this helps, in the past I’ve sprinkled ghost pepper powder on my birds and around their coop for predators HATE spicy things and the birds don’t mind. It seems to have done the trick for I haven’t seen a predator in a WHILE. To...

    Hello!

I live in Colorado and own 7 chicken and one duck currently. I have had 3 birds pass over the 6 years I’ve been keeping backyard birds! My other duck was eaten by a predator (skunk, fox, or raccoon) on unknown reasons since I had tucked her in that night. My other two chickens were just found...

Double Predator Attack, 1 Loss :(

I lost my duck to a predator awhile ago, so I basically ‘seasoned’ the chickens with ghost pepper powered since foxes and all that are extremely sensitive to it and the birds don’t mind it, it worked and I haven’t seen any trace of a predator since (yep, I know, this sounds like the most...

My Polish chicken is loosing her feathers really fast

Thanks for responding! She’s about three and the other chicken have not started molting yet, it’s the first year she’s done this, they’re all free- range and she rarely gets pecked anymore.

My Polish chicken is loosing her feathers really fast

I live in Colorado and my Polish chicken (Mo) has started suddenly loosing all her feathers and in practically only three days, she’s lost all her usually HUGE tail feathers and has patches of bare skin, I didn’t want to pick her up and take pictures because when I do a bunch more feathers fall...
