    Does anyone paint eggs?

I'm getting so many more eggs a week than we could eat and I'd hate to see them go to waste. I've been wanting to hollow some out and paint them and make ornaments or even tiny trinket boxes out of them. Anyone know the best way to drain them without breaking? Also the best paint to use? Is...

    Our first two eggs!

Can someone explain how to turn an old mini fridge into an incubator? I happen to have an old mini fridge and if I can save money turning it into a bator instead of buying one I'd love to do that :)

    Outside setups

Thinking of moving my quail outdoors so they can enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and scratching and pecking in real dirt. Would this be ok: http://m.homedepot.com/p/SummerHawk-Ranch-Vintage-Red-Barn-Chicken-Coop-33554/205745336/

    Egg stuck on quail

I'm sorry to ask this, I know this must have been hard. But for future reference for myself if this ever happens to one of mine. What is the quickest, most humane possible way of culling?

    Lighting and fertile egg questions

My dozen coturnix are 4 weeks old now, fully feathered and all seem alert and happy. They are my very first quails and I dare say it's going we'll *knock on wood* I turned off the red lamp for a few hours today, to gradually start to take it away. I have read that quails need artificial lighting...

    Eggs to incubator

How long can eggs sit before needing to go in the incubator? Can I stockpile them until I have a bunch to put in the incubator? How long can unfertilized eggs sit before they are no longer good to eat?
