I have a bantam that only lays shell less eggs. She is free range and eats what all the others eat no difference. She lays maybe three eggs a week. Amy ideas?
That was my thoughts but imagine if you really can do it how many eggs, incubation space and unnecessary culling could be prevented. Worth looking into.
I would dearly love to hatch out only hens as I want layers not roosters. I can not kill my chickens so I have an absolute over run of unwanted roosters. I would then only eat male eggs.
Is it possible to sex the eggs? I watched a programme on fishing cormorants and they said they sexed the eggs before they put the eggs in an incubator. It was all down to the shape of the egg. The pointy ones were male and the more rounded ones were hens, or possibly the other way...
