    I know I should never assume...but I had always assumed that the leash law ended at the city limit sign. Thanks for the link! I know that it is definitely legal for us to kill the dog, but I will be looking into this as well!

    The only issue with that is that we live in the country so there is no leash law and our dogs roam too. If my dogs killed livestock of another farmer then I would expect them to take proper action to take care of the dog or require restitution from me,but we just don't keep our dogs chained up...
