Just called to talk to them about my order. If you are ordering one of their specials then I would think it would be $7 (for under 100) and $.15 a chick for air freight. If you are ordering breeds separately then it is $1 per breed if you order under 25 in a breed. I am ordering Ideal 236's...

If you want to keep the shed put windows in it or some sort of ventilation going in each direction, on all 4 walls so you can get ventilation the way the wind is blowing, that you can close up in the winter. You can either put in real windows or go with holes with wire cloth over them...
Consider a coop you can transition between seasons. We do this for our coop and horse stalls. Coop is made of metal square tubing and R panels. We remove some R panels in the summer to get more ventilation, but keep shade and in the winter we button it back up. Pretty simple process. For...
Used to be 2 dog Kennels for previous owner of the house. We use 1 side for the chickens (one mostly paneled), other side for storage of food, etc. It is completely paneled now, we remove 2 sections of paneling in the back for summer for more ventilation. The small fenced area is only there...
as long as the metal can reach from one side to the other of a coop then you do not need to have plywood. ie if it is 6' then you can run it that way all the way down to cover up all 9' or if they are 9' then you can run it all the way to 6'. If you have shorter pieces you would need to run...
IMHO sand is way easier to scoop the poop off of. We have fine sand (just because we bought for stalls at first) and it is very easy to clean up. Not to mention easier to spread out in the field and of course with the Texas clay we have in the field sand never hurts to put out. If it is...
Not sure the sand, we tried sand in the stalls and didn't care for it so we had 20yds of good quality sand sitting around and just put that in the chicken coop instead. As for putting in the coop from the trailer we used our tractor, but if you don't have one maybe a neighbor does. If it...
To catch either wait until on the roost or if you don't want to wait we use a large fishing net with a long handle. Works great for catching any birds if needed to when not on the roost.
We have found Shavings cheapest at feed/ tack stores. You can save quite a bit if you buy in bulk (normally 20+ or pallet), but we have horses we buy them for not the chickens. We actually have a concrete floor in the coop and went from putting straw, to shavings and now to sand. We have been...
We live in TX so not as extreme, but we do put up full D panels in the winter and then take down the middle section on a 10x20 enclosed to give a good breeze through there, but still have plenty of shade, works great and easy to put up take down.
We have used all 3 types and they all work fine. Just depends on what time of year and what we have on hand from horses. It is really just a preference.
Not sure what you are trying to catch her with, but we found the best way to catch the chickens from the people we bought our chickens from. Large fishing net. Give you the length you need and is pretty easy on them overall. Sounds like you may need 2 of them and 2 people to go from each side.
We have a 10x12 coop with cement floor and use sand. Find it very easy to pick up the droppings off the top. We have 10 chickens, even dozen at 1 time and are very happy with it. Easy enough to get rid of IMO, easier then shavings. We just put it out in the field as adding sand to the clay...
