The legs are mostly yellow with some gray spots.
You can see a bit here, another bad outside picture that was too dark :) she wasn't happy and just wanted to go to bed!
We have an EE and once they started feathering looked similar, but as a chick this one was a perfect full brown and the EE...
We thought this was a RI Red when we got her as a chick. Now we aren't sure of breed. I'm 90% sure she is a pullet, but doesn't look like a RI. Please pardon the pictures, she was ready for bed and I had to take her in the garage for enough light to get a pic.
We thought this was a RI Red since she was a chick, but now we aren't sure!! Also slightly worried she is a Roo. Mimicking the NH that is a roo crowing and just noticed tail feathers curling a bit. Still small comb and I'm convinced she is a pullet, but hubby isn't. So, please chime in on breed...
Black Australorp - 3 months old
I've tried to include close ups of tail/saddle and heckle feathers. Comb/wattle doesn't seem abnormally large to me and I don't really see heckle feathers, but the tail looks suspicious.
since we are in love with them, what do we do? Replace them? Take them to a "retirement" home? (I'm a vegetarian, but will eat eggs...and dairy) when should we remove them? Would removal and re-introduction the same day be too much stress for the other 5?
I have 2 suspect Roos. I'm a little devestated to give either up, but can't keep Roos. The first is a NH hatch date around 4/23.
The second is a black australorpe hatch date 4/19.
So, both are 3 months and as I looked through lots of posts and descriptions I'm seeing behaviors and traits I think...
