    Oh and they won't start huffing (males)or trilling (females) until about hmm I think Speedy was 2 or 3 months when she started trolling and calling to fancy. I honestly dont remember when fancy first started huffing, all I know is one day it was like magic suddenly he wasn't scared of me anymore...

    I didnt either, when i first found Speedy i thought she was male cause she was so aggressive and protective and fancy was a female cause he so timid and scared. They were my first and I think it was cause I was soooo focused on them and trying to be good to them that I paid A LOT of attention to...

    I think they are males, too... looking at their bills and feet - males have a more broad bill and kinda sturdier looking feet and legs.

    My moved to WV three years ago and I had hoped when I went to visit her, I'd be able to come.meet you... however, that will not be happening anytime soon now unless I make it back towards the east coast someday. My mom past away last year in February... Anyhow, I've missed y'all and want to come...

    Wow, it really has been awhile since I updated this thread. Well! Here's the surprise picture of Speedy! She'll be 8 this July and this is her first time hatching babies!!! She's still mommy's girl, though I was telling her Good girl as she was drinking and she started wagging her tail 🤪

    Extremely creative and sneaky nest makers

    That's funny you call her houdini - I had one just like her that I named Donella, she would do the same, she could get out of enclosures areas the others couldn't figure out. Anyhow, one day I was collecting an egg and I had a baby! He grew into a big brat named houdini because of his mom's antics.

    PA Duck Sitter! (Near Philadelphia)

    I'll be coming to PA - Pittsburgh area hopefully in June and again in October. My mom wants to move back and she's looking at somerset county... I know that's not close to Philly, but would love to get together!
