I was able to get a dog play pen area and a UV protective cover from Amazon delivered by tomorrow.
Then I'll be able to start isolating her from the rest of the flock.
Any thoughts regarding if there's a method to tape her leg that would better support the healing?
@dawg53 Thanks, so you think that she's hurt herself rather than having an issue like Bumblefoot?
I'm not able to isolate her today but I will get what I need tomorrow to be able to do that for her. And follow your directions on the post re: 10 days rest w/ B-vitamin.
@Swbertrand1 Since I gave her the epsom salt bath she is running more, although still hobbling a little she seems in better spirits.
Hopefully a few days of daily epsom salt soaks will help her feel better.
Perhaps she strained her muscle or something.
I got some antimicrobial poultry...
@Swbertrand1 thanks so much for all your help.
She's a very big bird so it's possible maybe she hurt herself. I don't even think she's overweight, just huge.
Hopefully someone else can shed some light on it.
I don't have the ability to isolate her today but I could probably get stuff...
I have new photos and video after cleaning her feet.
Video where I try to show both her feet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y0Lcc0SixfO-ACjhEA_sY80yJrMrByy2/view?usp=sharing (video was taken without putting her down, I put her down between video and photos so her feet got more dirt on them...
So pretty much I should give her a little bath with the epsom salts, and then look at the feet again.
I think your links might not have added?
Do you think it would be normal for her to be tired if she's in pain? Like maybe she didn't sleep very well?
I'll go prepare an epsom soak and update
It's dirt I think. Should I try washing her feet?
I also have epsom salts (unscented) if I should try soaking her feet like the beginning bumblefoot treatment recommends?
My chicken seems like she's hobbling/hopping/limping today.
She also seems a bit tired.
But her comb is still red and she still tries to play with the other chickens. (Who are not having issues.)
I'm not sure how I should be helping her?
Is it bumblefoot? Scaly leg mites?
I tried to...
