After relaxing a bit more I may just leave them separated and deal with them at a later date. Let them do their thing for a bit longer in their new female free territory. I’m not giving them away however, because we spent over 150 dollars on them. 😓 . Thanks for the advice however. It’s nice to...
Well that certainly answers that. I think the biggest boy may be a little over ten pounds? So it should work if I choose to go that way. Thanks for sharing!
We acquired some pekin drakes a month ago from some people in a nearby neighborhood, they didn’t mention any particularly violent behavior or anything like that. And at first things weren’t too bad, or maybe that’s just my inexperience showing and inability to see what more experienced duck...
Thank you so much, I hope someone will be able to give me some answers there then. We got the girls for eggs and thought maybe we could have some boys to produce more babies when we wanted to, but they are just too..mean.

Thank you. I’m a bit envious of your outdoor brooding area, I miss my bathroom. 😹 Well so far we haven’t decided on everyone’s name. It’s difficult to tell them apart, minus the two others that do have names. One is Lightning, she’s our smallest little one, the same size Ophelia was so we watch...
We've moved the babies into the shower area with a fresh "grass" rug. They've gotten bigger already, which is nuts. I heard that they grow super fast, but I wasn't expecting it to be this quick. The box was too small I think. One of our little girls has some fluff missing around her neck, from...
We got 10 Buff girls, or at least that’s what we’re supposed to have. I guess we’ll see! 😹 So far so good, all alive and the one I was a bit worried about I can’t tell apart from the rest. The bigger girls like resting on top of the brooder, they seem to have their own little clique going on.
We have a brooder in there for them, but we also have a space heater, where they can't reach from within their container, inside of the room too. I'll be turning it on and off periodically. They've dried out now and we've solved the wet bedding issues. You think if I check on them every few...
Thank you! They are our first farm animals so I was so nervous! Seeing as they all arrived here alive, I'm hoping to keep them that way. I'll go change out their bedding!
