possible I lock down too early?

I have no idea where my head was when I locked down my incubator. I believe that I locked it down on day 17 rather on day 19. The day I locked it down I candled and determined that I had 16 viable eggs, today I have only 2 chicks. Yesterday, hatch day, about 8 of the eggs had a pip and about 6...

Looking for a Farmer in Cincinnati, OH area

Hello! My kids (and husband) and I hatch a dozen or so chicks each year for the experience, but have no where to keep them after they have hatched. Before we begin the incubation process I always make sure that we have a farm to give them to. If we began incubating 2 dozen eggs on March 26th...

    Hatch Day malfunction

It does not stink, and it is still breathing. I picked up the eggs from the hatchery myself. They are Golden Comet eggs. There are 4 other pipped eggs as far as I can tell, but no other action yet. Patiently waiting!

    Hatch Day malfunction

Tried that. There is way too much. Maybe the sac was not fully absorbed? I also tried to remove just a tiny bit of the shell. I don't think that is going to help it. Poor little soul.

    Hatch Day malfunction

Today is Hatch day for me. I had begun incubating 24 eggs 21 days ago. 5 days ago I candled and pulled out 8 eggs that were not viable. I have 16 left. One pipped early this morning, not sure what time originally, but I saw it at 8 AM and it was looking really healthy. I could see the beak and...

    Humidity Concerns

Like the original post mentioned, there are a million questions about humidity, but I'm wondering if I could ask everyone's opinion. This is my 3rd home hatch (dozen eggs) and I'm on day 4. Up until today, humidity was a bit out of control ranging from 60-70%. I was just reading about air cell...

    Opinions please

I'm actually worried that the humidity was too low at the end of incubation; between 50 -60%

Sorry about the video not working, however, now that I have given them enough time to fluff up and figure out their legs, I think the two that did hatch are fine. yeah! They are peeping away in the living room brooder. Now, my other 10 eggs that haven't even pipped.... I performed the...

Thank you so much everyone! I have been using a fan incubator with a constant temp between 99 and 102. The spike was less than 24 hours long, but occured on day 10. The humidity was always 50% to 65%, the higher the humidity during lockdown. There was a period of time that I did not turn...

I had 6 Auracana and 6 Golden Comet eggs. Only 1 of each egg has hatched (even pipped). The Auracana came out with curled toes and the Golden Comet is still laying in the incubator with a very round and black belly, not sure if it is going to make it. What did I do wrong?
