predators thread
I am new to this site. I will develop a profile soon, but live in San Francisco and have about 20 hens that range over 3 back yards. I have had chickens here for over 20 years. Two days ago, I found a dead hen in the yard with a lot of the feathers missing on the head, neck and side, but the flesh was not eaten. Today, when I let the hens out, another hen was very beaten up with feathers torn from her neck, but alive, so I put her in a seclusion area I use for baby chicks when I have them. We have racoons, skunks, etc. Does anyone know what type of animal kills for the blood?
